Weston Waxweiler, MD, FAAD, is a dermatologist at Cleaver Medical Group Dermatology-Cumming, Dahlonega, Lavonia, and Toccoa, Georgia locations. 

Dr. Waxweiler completed his undergraduate degree with honors at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina, which he attended on a full scholarship. During his undergraduate studies, Dr. Waxweiler worked on a medical study-abroad trip in Kikuyu, Kenya, where he developed a desire to practice medicine.

Dr. Waxweiler earned his medical degree with honors at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He studied melanoma at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Doris Duke Fellow before moving to Denver, Colorado, to complete his internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center. To finalize his education, Dr. Waxweiler moved to California to complete a dermatologic residency at the University of California, Irvine, where he gained extensive experience with cosmetics, pediatric dermatology, and skin cancer.

To continue learning about the latest medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology developments, Dr. Waxweiler has authored many articles in scientific journals, textbook chapters, and dermatologic symposium abstracts. He uses the knowledge gained from this valuable research to better assist his patients.

Dr. Waxweiler enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, traveling, and reading when he’s not at work.
